Beyond Pokhara  to Annapurna Base Camp.

Pokhara Valley lies alongside the Annapurna Range.   Pokhara city (Mahendrapool) and Pokhara Lakeside (Phewa Lake) are the most populous part f the valley. Being a valley, Pokhara is at a lower altitude than it surround and it is flat. In geo economic term it is one of the most successful regions of Nepal. Pokhara is accessible by air.  

Sarangkot is the highest point on the Pokhara valley rim  It is located at altitude is 1592 Meters above sea level and takes in Pokhara, Pokhara Valley and beyond to the main spine of the Annapurna ranges.  Annapurna South 7195,  Annapurna I 7647,  Machhapuchure  6997, Annapurna III 7555, Annapurna II 7937, Annapurna IV 7525,  Lamjung Himal 6986.

Being on the Spine of the ridge it also provide the fasted path into ABC (Annapurna Base Camp)

The transition in culture from city to Himalaya begin a you leave the valley.  The weather change, the perople change, the terrain change.  By the time you get to Sarangkot you will be a climatising to a more Himalayan terrain than Pokahara.
