Sarangkot's altitude is 1592 Meters above sea level and views take in Pokhara, the greater Pokhara Valley and beyond to the main Annapurna ranges peaks. Annapurna South 7195, Annapurna I 7647, Machhapuchure 6997, Annapurna III 7555, Annapurna II 7937, Annapurna IV 7525, Lamjung Himal 6986. Pokhara Valley lies alongside the Annapurna Range. Nestled 1000 meters Sarangkot below in the Pokhara Valley is Pokhara city (Mahendrapool) and Pokhara Lakeside (Phewa Tal). Beyond Lake Side is Dam Side. The clean down stream end of the lake. These three areas make up the Pokhara metropolis. Lakeside and Dam Side join to form one of Nepal's most popular short to long stay tourist destinations It is probably the richest area of Nepal. It is also home to a predominant Ghurkha population Being a valley Pokhara is at a lower altitude than its surrounds and it is flat. In geo economic term it is the most successful region in Nepal. Sarangkot is located 1000M up on the highest point of the Pokhara valley rim. Sarangkot overlooks this entire region. Being on the spine of the Pokhara Valley rim Sarangkot also provides views of the hilly region to wards Indi and is the fastest path into ABC (Annapurna Base Camp) The transition in culture from city to Himalaya will begin as you leave the floor of the Pokhara valley. Weather, people, buildings, food and the terrain change. The journey from Pokhara up to Sarangkot is 7-Kilometers by road, trekking pathway or a combination of both.
